Accessibility
Lecto is built to be usable by every student, including those who use assistive technology. We treat accessibility as part of the product, not a compliance exercise.
Our commitment
Lecto targets conformance with WCAG 2.1 Level AA, Revised Section 508, and EN 301 549. The student experience is tested with automated tools and, more importantly, by hand: keyboard only, and with real screen readers (NVDA on Windows and VoiceOver on iOS), plus 200% browser zoom and reduced-motion passes.
Where we stand
We maintain a current Accessibility Conformance Report (VPAT 2.5Rev, International Edition) covering the student experience. No Level A or AA success criterion is rated "Does Not Support." Known limitations are named in the report rather than omitted: currently, text highlighting is a pointer-only study aid with no keyboard equivalent. It is tracked.
Instructor-facing authoring tools are evaluated separately and are not covered by the current report.
How we test
Automated accessibility checks run weekly against a pre-production build using two independent engines, compared against a baseline so regressions surface against a known-good result rather than by chance. Findings are recorded in a dated register, and our conformance report is generated from that register rather than written by hand.
Telling us about a problem
If you encounter a barrier using Lecto, we want to hear about it, including if you are a disability services office acting on a student's behalf. Contact accessibility@readlecto.com and we will respond with a plan and a timeframe, not a form letter.
A current copy of our Accessibility Conformance Report is available on request.
